In 2026, Hacketstown Stud Stables owner Robyn Dowling made history by becoming the first equine student ever to win the overall Teagasc/FBD Student of the Year Award. 

Having completed the Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Horsemanship (Equitation) at Kildalton College, Robyn established Hacketstown Stud Stables on her grandfather's farm in Skerries, transforming the family farm into a thriving riding school. 

Her achievement was recognised nationally as a landmark moment for equine education, highlighting the growing importance of the equestrian sector within Irish agriculture and education.

 Robyn described winning the award as a great honour and was particularly proud to see equine studies receive recognition at the highest level.
